I guess you must have been lucky with your career choice, and always had work in Scotland. I spent £12k of my own money to improve my job prospects, but fell into the "and what experience do you have" trap. Somehow being able to drop bombs on people wasn't seen as a major pre-requisite for the civilian job market. Of course, add in the fact that I'm in my fifties and the market shrinks even more.
As for crying into my wallet in the ME, I can only guess that you have never had to move abroad for work and leave your family behind...
I could out bullshit you on the ex forces no use/victim front, but I wont.
And, please, I'm welling up here. No more pity me guff.
Move back to Scotland, contribute to the Scottish economy, be part of the solution, get the right to vote.
Live abroad (and I include the rest of the UK in this) - then lose the right to say what happens in a country you've abandoned.
Simple.
