i think thats called an opinion schtum & he like all others are entitled to it regardless of the nonsense your spouting.Your undertones are those of the rest of the naysayers who think all should follow their agenda & anyone who doesn’t must be a fool.

I almost burst out laughing at the irony. Almost...

Interesting perspective from an Austrian guy working on the Villacher Alpenstrasse we chatted to this week. He has cancelled his Scottish holiday until after the vote, citing uncertainty about the currency.
Luckily we were able to reassure him: we told him that the voters had the same worries, that they were far too canny to vote for the disaster that would follow a yes vote, and he should book his holidays in the knowledge that the whole idiot plan would be rejected.
Another chap we spoke to in the German village of Stegaurach, a Kosovan waiter, reckoned that Scotland should arm itself and fight!!

Perhaps the Austrian guy believes the shite he reads in the papers?

"An independent Scotland will not be allowed to use the £-sterling"

As has been shown - nothing wrong in using it, even if only in the short-term. As an internationally-traded currency......... Anyone can use it.

On here - someone claimed that an independent Scotland couldn't watch the BBC!

I believe that Ireland pays less for the full BBC package, than Scotland contributes to the BBC. Sign me up for that one!

The Internet has created the illusion that all opinions are important. They're not. The only ones that are important are those borne of experience, wisdom, tolerance, liberalism and the desire to enhance the lives of other people. Those that are informed by prejudice, intolerance, stupidity and conservatism are worthless. If you think I'm spouting nonsense then sadly your opinion also falls into the latter category.

What utter liberal namby pamby pish. What you really mean is the only ones that are important are those that you agree with. If your opinions are borne of experience and wisdom they are worthy of consideration regardless of whether they are tolerant or intolerant. Sometimes they are intolerant and conservative precisely because of experience and wisdom. It is very easy for tolerance, liberalism and the desire to enhance the lives of other people to sink into appeasement, undermining of standards and the lives of everybody being dragged down to the lowest common denominator in the desire for some mythical equality. Experience teaches the wise these lessons.

I actually did burst out laughing at the irony. He really does think he is clever and he really does think Gollum is offering the Scots independence................. :blast

Theres some bollocks written on here, what I do know is, no matter how intelligent you may think you are, you aren't.

It was Morty I almost laughed at. Just in case you quoting my post along with Schtum's post misled anyone into thinking anything different.

I did laugh at your post about Farage coming up to Scotland though. I bet he hopes to receive a better welcome than he did the last time he appeared here with a fanfare. He nearly got lynched in an Edinburgh pub. Pity he hadn't TBH. It would have been about the first interesting thing I'd read about him. That's how much of a clue he has. The smug coupon on arrival was soon wiped
off his face when he received dogs abuse and threats. You can argue all you like about that behaviour being unacceptable but really, if you'd half a brain cell, you wouldn't set foot in a lions den dressed as a zebra

I know it was Morty you were referring to as Schtum hadn't posted; I was being ironic :D

As for Farage and UKIP, they are as entitled as any other Brits to share their opinions on the break up of the UK. Lion's den? Dressed as a zebra? Bit beneath you TBH Ronno. Farage is no fool and he knows if the Nats physically attack him and his party again it will reveal them as the bone headed thugs many Nats are and their preferred method of stopping free speech in Scotland; it's what Scots can look forward to if the Nats get their way. Plus he is one of the few people on the UK political scene who says it like it is and like him or loath him whatever he says is usually worthy of consideration.

Of course he is Andy. I'm not disputing that for a minute. I just think it was incredibly naive of him thinking he'd get a heroes welcome in Edinburgh when he stepped off the bus. Lots of people think he's as much of a dick as you think Wee Eck is. And not all of them are Nats. You seem fairly certain that the thugs forming the lynch mob were Nationaists. Is this assumption on your part or is it fact? I'm not being smart. I don't know the answer. However, I do know someone who verbally abused Farage in Edinburgh who most certainly won't be voting YES in September.

I've a feeling more than SNP supporters think differently than you about him and UKIP.

I am sure you are right about them not all being Nats Ronno but if he turns up in September and is physically attacked again it will paint Scots and particularly the Nat Scots in a poor light. A lot of Scots were appalled at his treatment previously and won't want a repeat of the situation. Whatever happens, everyone should welcome Salmon being put on the spot to tell the UK what his game is and it is obvious at the moment his game is breaking up the UK not Scottish independence.

No argument from me there Andy :beerjug:

I guess the whole of the UK should be glad of mavericks like Salmon and Farage as they are shaking up the establishment and making us consider who is actually running the show and how effective they are at looking out for the people of the UK :thumb2

Go on....... Put on your big boys' pants and see if you can actually get the spelling of the First Minister's name - correct.

I know you do it for effect, but like the people who call Dealers - "Stealers" - it's lame beyond belief.

It has succeeded in doing what it was designed to do :thumb :D

Must admit, this made me laugh. With apologies to Devon in advance...

........

I can't be arsed to watch the vid but are you saying a vote for 'independence' means a Scottish health service will somehow not have any running costs? How weird

Devon ...You cant be arsed to watch the vid, yet you have made an assumption on the content.
That about sums it up doesn't it?

No - its not directly about money. Its about the care of the population, the differences between our health services, and the future of the NHS from a breast cancer specialist.

Maybe if the English weren't so obsessed with the amount of money they have/could have/will lose, they would be a happier race.
Believe it or not, more money does not automatically make one happier. Less personal wealth and a properly run society is a far better prospect in my, and millions of others opinion.

The current British society is definitely not run in a proper and fair way, but its what the English voted for. Its obviously what you want down there. We, for some strange reason, have issues with it, and have for many years.

Accept the fact that we Scots think a wee-bit differently about certain things. Rightly or wrongly, we do.... well.. most of us do.

Some folk like 'all inclusive' package holidays. They know what to expect. No unexpected surprises. Hot mediocrity!
We, on the other hand, are going on an unplanned trip of a lifetime. Few plans, but we will probably not die. When we eventually get back, with smaller bank accounts and weathered faces, who will be the more contented?

Your country is turning into the USA very quickly. People are blindly ignoring the fact that there is a huge planned chasm between the have's and the have nothing. Its not going to change. We in Scotland are incapable of making a dent in this with the present voting system.
We are not trying to become independent for a cheeky little snub at you. We are trying to remove a cancerous growth from our lower regions. We are attempting to get rid of it before it infects the rest of the body and is inoperable.

(Ive watched numerous videos from both sides. I can be arsed)

Well that's 13 minutes of my life wasted, I tried watching the vid when you first posted but the title 'No vote will end free NHS..' and the fact it featured an Irish woman married to a German bloke telling Scots to vote for 'independence' made me think I would be watching a load of emotive tosh and so it proved when I suffered the vid at my second attempt.

I don't know why you think the English are any more/less obsessed about money then the Scots Den? I am comfortably off by most standards but live in the second poorest part of the UK and it really is shit for many of our friends and the youngsters around here. I don't think the Scots are very different to the vast majority of the English in wanting a decent and fair society and I think you will find a huge number of English are as disillusioned as some of the Scots and want to do something about it.

The vid sinks to another low imho using cancer to frighten people into supporting a 'Yes' campaign instead of presenting the Scottish population with a proper plan. Few people's lives aren't affected by the horrible disease, We lost my wife's dear Mum after a long fight against cancer last September and my life long friend's father was told by his doctor last week his cancer had now spread to his liver and bowel and he could stop taking his medication if he wanted as the hospital could do no more. The Irish woman's attempt to frighten Scots with the disease is vile and contemptible but is typical of the campaign by the Nats; emotive but empty rhetoric.

With respect Den you are not going anywhere. The majority of Scots see through salmon's lies and will not be persuaded on another Darien type adventure fortunately. I hope the Nats can learn to live with their silly sense of grievance after September but I don't expect they will. I wish you well anyway.
