Hi everyone, sorry to post yet another Hayes brake question....but....
My R1250GSA has done 10000 miles and I thought it would be a good idea to clean out the front brakes. The Hayes brake calliper pins have a c-clip on the end (as opposed to the traditional R clip that every other manufacturer uses). I know it’s really easy to bend these c clips or even lose them as they fly across your garage when trying to install or remove them...so I dropped into bmw to get hold of a few spares. Well guess what...you can’t buy them individually...you have to buy the brake pad attachment kit which is 2 pins 2 clips and the springing thing that stops the pads moving about. £21 plus vat per calliper. I know it’s not a huge amount of money....but do they really have to shaft us ever time we go in to the dealers?
Does anyone know if you can get hold of those tiny c clips anywhere?
