...Just a few weeks after the battery software update I have received another letter recalling my 12 for a 'replacement of the seal in the fuel pump'. :nenau

Anyone would think they are trying to drive customers into the showrooms just before Christmas or something. :nono

Good job I've done all my chrimbo shopping already. ;)

The fuel pump seal recall is well over a year old....elsewhere on these forums you'll find a post with the relevant frame numbers etc........unless, of course, your bike is 'well over a year old'........

No - my bike is not even a year old. March 1st 2005 to be precise. In that time I have had two services and been in for an additinal software update - annoying huh!

The letter states that BemW have only recently released details of this recall.

That's very interesting........so now they've issued a second recall on the same issue.....

Clearly they have not introduced the modification (a different seal) on the production line......

Is this the issue........?

My GS is due for a service in the new year. I've read about the fuel pump seal, the dealer has informed me about a "campaign" to have the charging software updated, and I note that there is an "offer" by the dealer network to "check" over the braking system.

Noting the above, is there anything else, other than normal service items, that I should ask the dealer to check while the bike is in?

I don't know about that Keith but you have checked the torque on the torx bolts which nip up the bottom yoke onto the fork legs, haven't you...?

I think its down to the dealer - my bike is Oct 2004 and I havent had a single recall from Bath Road (now Bristol Motorrad) since I bought it new from them. Does that mean my bike is perfect - or does it mean that Bath Road havent got round to it yet.

Mind you, I havent had any problems so I'm not bothered.
