From the same book....

Definition of a Yorkshireman

"The pre-eminent species of Homo Sapiens. (These most economy-minded people could solve the world's monetary problems at a stroke, bearing in mind their genetic heritage: Scotsmen with the generosity squeezed out.)"

Quoted verbatim from Ee Up Lad - A Salute To The Yorkshire Dialect by Lee Markham 2002

I say you chaps, you're rather letting the side down. I think you'll find that most of Yorkshire is owned by my sort. We’ve nicely divided it up between the Duke of Devonshire, Lord Harewood and Lord Howard. It is therefore incumbent upon us to set the standards on our estates. No, I don’t mean Oakworth, Gipton, Low Moor or Halton Moor.

We, sirs, speak the Queen’s English and before any of you plebs `kick off’ as I believe you say in your common parlance, that isn’t phrases such as `Ooh, get her’ and `That would look lovely in cerise’.

I understand some of you seek to reinforce your regional diversity by developing your own words for things which already have established usage but really, can’t you save them for your football matches and working men’s clubs?
