Yorkshire (Leeds) Lads - Where should i move too??

Hello you lot from 'God's Own Country'

Looking for advice: due to possible new job i may have need to find digs within reasonble travel distance of the south bit of Leeds - i'm only likely to be using them from Monday-Thursday but don't want to end up taking something in some shitty area (sorry in advance to those that live in a shitty area)

Any idea's on area's in Leeds or close to the south (M62/M1 ish) would be greatly appreciated - oh and i'll be bringing one of my bikes to use in those warm Yorkshire evenings so may want idea's on bike meets etc

We're in Rothwell which has good access to M1/M621/M62 and is quite pleasant. Squires Cafe is a big meeting place for bikers and a good starting point if you are heading up to 'the Dales' for the roads and the scenery.

avoid pontefract, dump and mostly full of numpties..

Rodley is good, as is Horsforth just up the road but you will pay more for Horsforth,these are both North or North West Leeds but you could be on M621 in 15mins easily....avoid like the plague IMHO Seacroft,Halton Moor,Colton,Hunslet,Armley,Beeston and neighbouring Bradford......Gildersome is ok as is East Ardsley......Sherburn in Elmet is ok too if you need to be near the biking mecca again any further east of Leeds and you get caught up in the York/Leeds traffic congestion which is not a nice place to be..... Rothwell is a good shout....if you need any advice when you have got up here give me a pm.
