You all told me.....

I think when we used to ride at night through the winters, bikes were absolutely fucking minging, how do you clean them when they get that bad cause it needs at least a hose to it.

....in theory you don’t have to take more care as they are supposedly sealed but it’s stupid not to. You have electrical connectors, switches and holes with things (battery’s & motors) in them.

Light hose or very wet sponge and dry dirt I just brush of - It rarely gets water

In the winter when it was really muddy I did less shorter rides and saved usage for big rides get it dirty once. Even then it was a light hose rinse when you first get home and it still wet.

rarely take the battery out as it stays dry

Jet wash everytime its out, been riding hi end bikes santa cruz, intense etc for 25 yrs and never had a problem, you wont shift the crud with a hose in those little hard to get places and this will just cause problems but just follow a few simple rules ( ask your mum if your struggling) Dont have it on full blast...use a good pre wash...bike or dog dryer..use a good finishing spray... GT85 etc. Cover bike except brakes. Leave 5mins wipe off, your bike will look lovely and shiney and your mates will be impressed

While it’s dusty, the hose will do, but I’ll crank out the Karch once it gets dirty. Good tip on the GT85. :thumb

I’ve mentioned this before but do the Cubes still have a flimsy plastic cover over the bottom of the motor? I bought an aluminium one off eBay and that takes any hits from fallen logs / rocks etc.........

I haven't fallen off mine yet, so haven't seen the underneath! :D

A link to the eBay one may be handy, for when it happens. :augie

I've never had a log fall on me whilst cycling. Tell us what it is like?

Relocated the Kiox centrally. Much better.

are you eMtbers able to record when during the ride the bike provides assistance, so when you review the analysis on Strava you can differentiate between you putting all the effort in and when / how the motor assists ?

Just had my first shot on one, mainly on road, well really all on road and it's very novel indeed. You forget you've got gears to use and when you go over that 15mph cut out it's far from cheating. Will have a proper play on it tomorrow off road to see how it is but being a HT may not be as much fun as a FS, bloody heavy feckers though.

Just back after my first off road tight technical trail ride, wowsers, these things are fucking ace :D

There is no way you'd ever go back to manual once you had a lecky one.

Nutty, my issue with those controllers being on the stem or even to the side is switching between modes, may be it was my lack of getting used to the one I've had a shot on but his had the controller by the grips and changing between modes on the fly was easy, I think it would be much harder where your is.

The Cubes with the Kiox have the controller by the grips as well. ;)
