You all told me.....

It does yes. It give NO extra power. It derestricts the speed limiter. Instead on the power assist cutting out at 15 mph ( or whatever it is ) it carries on assisting as fast as you can go. I’ve had 34 mph on the flat out of mine. :D My legs wouldn’t go any faster! :blast
The power assist levels don’t change. You still have to put the effort in. No peddle, no power assist.

looks fab mate....seem to get more bike for your dosh with cube..deristricted mine by taking the wheel magnet off the wheel and fitting one to the crank and turn the sensor around, 60p off ebay

Ok... You know what, if you de-restrict and use that in a public place, you will be breaking the UK law on ebikes. I would have no sympathy if you get caught and at the very least have it confiscated. Although I doubt you'd get caught, as I saw a bloke whizz past me hardly pedaling, and then I saw him do little more than a rotation whilst going up hill so he'd clearly done something to it.

Last summer I also saw a pillock nearly kill himself when he had to stamp his foot down and lift the rear wheel as it propelled him past the red light and towards the traffic crossing the junction in front of him!

15.5mph assisted speed on a ebike should be fine for anyone, you want to go faster, pedal harder!

How is that any different to going 85mph on a motorbike or faster in a car. It’s still illegal. Do you lecture every speeding motorist? I doubt it. And you can’t tell me you never speed on a bike or car.
Oh and I had 58.2 mph going down a mountain in the Alps last year. I wasn’t even peddling. So again, if I hadn’t had it deristricted would you be playing your face about that?

15.5 is the sweet spot, cruising if you like and very frustrating when it cuts in and out

Why a Bosch motor ?

I see Shimano have they're own make.

shimano are just about to launch their new motor, they have 2 at the moment you can choose from

Spot on mate! That’s why I did mine. I rarely go above 15 mph but when I do it’s nice it doesn’t cut out.

I assume that’s 15mph uphill, and you can still pedal without assistance faster downhill?

I had the hybrid just over 30mph yesterday! :D

It comes with a 50 on the cassette

The biggest one I had back a few years back was a 45 and I had to fit that specifically, changed days.

So is it for a person that would have had a small motorbike in days gone by, but now a male usually has a mangina, this electric stuff is acceptable.....Bit like a male(and I use that term loosely) is able to use grooming products.

It`s a poofs bike.....There, I have said it.

I wanted the new Bosch motor. I watched loads of videos, read reviews etc, and the Cube come out really well. The carbon frame is a nice bonus too.

It was a toss up between this and the Turbo Levo, but you get much more for your money with this. It also gets better reviews, unless you get the Turbo Levo Comp, which is another £1500+.

I have the older Levo Comp, fab bikes

I cycle more than I drive, and regrettably, ride. I have seen plenty of idiots driving fast cars and riding motorbikes inappropriately. I have commented to individuals when I've caught up to them in traffic, and I have been threatened with a lump hammer which one arsehole pulled from his door pocket. I have also been told to get a bike license by a bloke who accused me of cutting him off by moving out to the middle of the road, when I saw the car driver, illegally parked, facing into the oncoming traffic and indicating to pull back to the correct side of the road for him. He presented the greater danger to me, and the blind bend just after the parked car. The motorbike was quite highly revved on it's approach, and I had seen him coming on an earlier check, but he gained on me rather fast, on a 30mph road. When I caught the motorbike at the next junction, as I was about to comment that I'd most likely gained my license more recently than he had, he shot off from the cycle box, turning left without indicating, cutting me off.

It is easier, and clearly safer, to voice an opinion over an internet forum. Speed has a place and a risk attached to it, I understand that, but cycles are not expected to be traveling at high speeds, and motor vehicle drivers have a hard enough time seeing the ones at 10mph. I have a gap in my memory which starts with leaving home in the morning, and then waking up in hospital in the afternoon. My tourer was never the same after that having been cartwheeled. Not one person saw how I crashed on an otherwise very busy road. At least on a motorbike, I would've had a bit more protection.

I have driven fast, a loaned G27 at a charity track day, and my own G20 roadster and with my landrover. I have also all but written off the landy, on a snowy snake pass, all of it with youthful ignorance. These days, there's just too many cameras and average speed traps to make it not worth the risk.

I am no way havin` it that you are a true manc…...I am surprised no one has followed you home yet and set your house on fire!

I think I'd notice someone following me... I'm not as fit as I was so it takes nearly twice as long to cycle home now. I also live at the dead end of the street that's not even visible on google street view.

I'm also not a true manc, as I live up in the hills above Manchester, but I cycle into the edges of it on a daily basis.

Being new to all of this, I guess frame size isn’t the sort of thing you can just guess at if you order from home. Taking into account current restrictions, how do you go about it?
