You all told me.....

So this is where it went to......Whose fucking idea was this?

I reckon all these wankers who need this order in their lives should catch covid and die really, it would suit them.

Death is inevitable. Embrace it.

No issues with mine today,

Purion display ? How no Kiox ?

Weird, isn’t it. They fit the Kiox to some bikes, and Purion to others. I’d have thought they’d put the better Kiox on all their bikes, as that has loads more features.

Probably like you, I've seen lots of Cube stereo hybrid vids and that's the first time I've seen one with the older display.

The Cube I had a shot of last week had a Purion, it's perfectly fine but if and when I step up to the plate, I'd be making sure it's got the Kiox.

I wouldn’t want the Purion, now that I’ve had the Kiox!

On another note, I find it strange that the battery doesn’t regenerate under pedal power. I’d have thought that would be a logical way to top up the battery when out and about, similar to the way that cars have regenerative batteries under braking, only the other way round. One day, I guess.

Ok:
just to make this easy:
On hub drive bikes that do regenerate, it adds circa 5% to the range. Is it worth doing?
Next: How do you put a reverse load through derailleur gears?
If you can do it, you will become very wealthy overnight.

It was something that struck me right away about ebikes, you'd have thought they'd work like a dynamo sort of, sure in time it will happen, it's a logical step, as regards reverse pressure through derailleur gears, that's just flown right over me napper.

He’s not an Engineer.....thankfully

Stupid - You don’t regenerate when you are needing power, you regenerate when braking or coasting :D

It’s all about gain, see above about 5% - That will also depend on where you ride, in the hills would be good for regeneration. Gentle rides from the campsite to the chip shop, not worth it

Cost and weight addition

If you wanted to do it and become wealthy with a solution that fits all bikes - Design a regenerating front hub that has no resistance when not generating but generates when triggered to do so. It would not be hard to get a feed from the motor/pedals and brakes so that it regenerates when you are coasting or braking

This will already have been thought of - The next challenge is making different variants, people with expensive bikes don’t like fitting crappy hubs and wheels so you’d need a very bling version which would cost big bucks - And let’s not even go there on unsprung weight at the end of your expensive front forks

And the last reason why not maybe need - Who really wants the extra range and extra range from just the battery is getting better everyday

....oh and on the Levo. It doesn’t have regeneration but if you need to cover a certain distance you can tell it for example to make what power you have left last 'x' miles or time
