Hi All, we’ve been having fun with a new project. Here it is... excerpts from the first chapter of Into Africa on YouTube - as never heard before! :type

What do you think? If you like it and think it’s a good way to introduce my books to people, could I ask a favour? Please would you share the YouTube link with everyone you know. I’m grateful for your help!!!!

Really nice to have it read in your voice! Are you thinking of doing the whole book in that format to sell as a spoken book?

Have you authorised your books to be read out by Kindle too? Shame you only get the default voices provided...

Hi Dave, great to hear from you. Chuffed you approve. I’d love to do the whole book as a spoken book – loads of people have been asking me to do them.

This chapter was originally done as a test by Kite Studio in Cambridge. Roger is a UKGSer. He’s great to work with and he’s obviously very talented. As a whole it was a very interesting thing to do - loads to learn – another world actually. Getting involved in new things such as this, for me, is a big part of the buzz of having written the books.

Sadly the costs of making the books happen in Talking Book format are too great for a bloke like me. So we decided to use Roger’s work to promote the books as a whole anyway. Shame to waste it eh : )

I don’t think that any other adventure motorcycle travel book has been promoted this way before, so we have fingers firmly crossed that people will be happy to use it to help spread the word.

And to be honest, I do wonder if somewhere along the line a financial backer will come forward to take on board the idea of making the books into Talking Books. Life’s a funny place eh : )

Many thanks for posting Dave and who knows, you doing that may just help me along the line!!

Oh and Kindle voices? Hmmm. Suppose the best thing is that they are available that way…

All the best to you.
Sam
