Hi all
I'm having trouble with the wiring of my Acumen CL10 Electronic Chain Oiler.
I wired it up at the same time as my Zumo, and used the CanBus plug under the dummy tank.
According to the link on here for wiring the Zumo, the No2 connection is 'pulse/speed', it's not needed for my Zumo, but it is needed for the CL10.
My CL10 doesn't work properly, it powers up fine, and purges OK, but after 1500 miles around Spain and France the guage still showed full? I had to resort to manual oiling whilst away, the exact scenario I was trying to avoid. Acumen have changed the head for me foc, but that wasn't the problem.
I've re-checked the wiring, and my diagnoses is that it isn't getting the necessary pulse telling it to squirt. I can only assume that the pulse function is not on the F800GS (maybe should have mentioned the model earlier), and although the plug is the same as the 1200, the wiring isn't? I haven't actually put a meter on to check, I'm not even sure if it would pick up a pulse?
I did ask NOG to check when they serviced it, but to no avail. The only way they thought they could get a pulse would be to break in to the ABS wiring, and that this might cause more problems than it solved!
Most modern bikes have electronic speedo's, as does the F800GS, but BMW use the same info for the ABS, I don't fancy mucking about with my brakes.
As all it needs is a pulse, I'm thinking of getting a cheap bicycle computer and just using the magnet and pick-up to send a pulse to my CL10, anyone see any problems with this? Or have you got a better idea?
