I have this weekend free and am planning a trip over to Belgium (Ypres) to visit the Flanders battlefields then on to Albert in France to do more of the same.
Quick itinerary,
Friday 28th October,
Leave Norwich 7.30am ish, Eurotunnel between 10-11am. Arrive Ypres set up camp at camping Jeugdstadion. Visit some of the attractions in and around Ypres see the 'Last Post' ceremony 8 pm at the Menin Gate.
Saturday,
Ride the 80km battlefield tour of Flanders Field, stopping at some of the 15 different sites.
Sunday.
Pack up camp, ride through to the canadian memorial at vimy. After that head to Albert and Camping Municipal du Vélodrome (waiting to hear back from them as to wether they are still open). I am also waiting for some brochures to come through the post so I can plan for the Sunday and the Monday.
Monday,
Catch the Eurotunnel back home later in the day.
I will be on a road bike but anybody interested in joining, just pm me.
