Hello People!

I bought YSS rear shock with hydraulic pre-load adjustment from Germany. On the picture below hose attached to the shock form the RIGHT hand side.

On the shock i have received hose attached at the back. It looks like shock preload adjuster was oriented incorrectly during assembling.

and obviously, shock doesn't fit.

So, the question...

Can I turn pre-load adjuster somehow without removing the spring?

Many Thanks.

Not sure if I've understood correctly when looking at your photos, but how did you decide it was back to front?

Had to that to standard gs1100 shock the other day after I had it rebuilt the adjuster @the bottom of the shock was facing into the swingarm ..I just put the top eye in a vice and put a large screwdriver thru the bottom shock clevis and just turned it round ..Im sure you could do something the same with yours :)

You should be able to move the preload adjuster round the shock body, there will probably be a locking grub screw on the hpa somewhere.
The hpa will be ithere screwed ondo the shock body or retained by a circular spring clip seated into a shock body, it'll take a lot of effort to turn unless you can release the spring tension (spring compressors).
Obviously, everything is under high spring tension so take great care before undoing stuff & seek specific/professional advice if you are not 100% sure.
