Hi all, as the title says, has anyone used one of these.

PC World are selling them at £199. reduced from £400

I currently use a cheap Aldi car sat nav mounted mounted in an Otter Box and run it through my Autocom, (audio output) which has worked great for the last four years.

The only downside is it will only take 6 way points on any one route, so a bit limiting.

Looking at the 220 it will take 500 way points

comments and thoughts greatly received

Cheers

Rob

Upgraded from an old Quest 1 to a Zumo 220 which I bought at Touratech Niedereshach when I 'spat out the dummy' with the Quest and it really was like coming out of the dark ages and into the 21st century.....!

Lane assist was a great advantage when negotiating all those motorways around Holland and Belgium that i'm not used to coming from the sticks.

I've found my way to where I wanted to be and found accomodation in hotels or campsites when i've got there aswell as fuel on route so i'm very happy with my 220.

There are more expensive Garmins with bigger screens and more features but the 220 is a good 'wee' package especially with the Touratech lockable mount and bracket which fits the GSA's screen crossbar and places the unit just under your line of sight

My 2610 is , I think, on the way out and I have been looking to a replacement in the spring (too bloody cold here to ride in winter) 200 pounds sounds a reasonable price although I would probably buy one here -250 euros and much easier to reclaim the tax and set it against the business.
Any feedback about the 220 would be very useful, especially on how it compares to the 550 & 660.

Amazon

Amazon selling at just under £200 delivered. I checked out customer comments and decided against buying one. Worth a read.

Had a look at the Amazon reviews, they don't read to well

I posted my thoughts on the 220 on another part of the GPS forum yesterday. I find it works fine but I use it mainly for pre-planned routes and
I don't use the audio, just the 2D map display. I use common sense and sometimes ignore what it suggests - eg leaving an autoroute way before the expected junction (it will sometimes route off and straight back on).

It isn't perfect by any means, and you still need a paper map and a bit of common sense. But if you want a GPS that will take you along pre-planned routes then it works fine and is much easier than trying to read route notes taped inside a plastic bag on the tank... If you get it to calculate a route on the fly, take a moment to review the route before setting off :rob. It also logs where you've been, has a load of POIs and can be used to find fuel en route.

If you can get one for £200 I reckon it is good value
