Zumo 400 map upgrade - limitations?

Hi there, I'm new to this forum....
Have recently bought a zumo 400. It came with a 2008 All europe map update. I am getting ready for a month long tour around europe. Unforuntately I cant seem to get the new maps to load. When ever I load one country it seems to displace the last. I have a 2GB SD card in so it should take at least 1 additional set of maps.... The manual is no use... Does anyone have any thoughts? Is this a limitation of the 400 model? Seems a strange one to me.... or does anyone have the solution...

Hi!

Not that experienced with the Zumo, but if it's like any other Garmin I've had, you have to send all the maps at once, not one after the other.

Might be worthwhile searching for mapinstaller to see if that helps, which is here: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3291

I gave that a try... It seems to have worked, but now I am even more confused. I used the map installer - But it didnt seem to use any of the data I had on the DVD..... The area I selected to bring across from the map installer now seems to be avialable on the zumo. I dont get it...... What is the DVD for? The only thing I can think is that because I have previously used the unlock code - on the back of the DVD then this mapping was made available to me from the map loader via the website?? Doesnt seem to make a lot of sence to me - it looks as if I didnt need the DVD at all.
The other possibility is that the map loader loaded up an older version or lesser version of the of maps? I checked on zumo the map was listed as the 2008 version...
Any thoughts? Many thanks though seems to be close to a solution!!
