Zumo 550 and 800GS

Ok, just purchased zumo 550, assuming I can just fit it to the battery of the 800gs as per manufacturers instructions.

I can't tell my canbus from the number 10 bus......am I good to go without draining battery's etc when it's hooked up.

Any help, confirmation would be good, had a quck search but I get lost in all the garble.

Oh god...((swoons)), It's never easy.....might aswell be in Japanese!! I can't work a screw driver.
