Had my zumo a couple of weeks now and suddenly it wont hcrgae from the cradle, works fine from the battery just dided on the way to work when in the cradle.

Wiring to cradle fine and charge.......think a return and replacement is in order. Very happy with it though just cant believe the damn cradle or whatever failed so soon!!!!!:nenau

Just spoke to Amazon and they have sent a replacement out which will be with me by Tuesday :thumb2

No questions asked, just filled in the online returns form and then made a quick call to Customer Services. I will pack the faulty unit off to them tomorrow.....they even cover your return postage.

Now thats service........lets just hope that i dont keep having to do this.

I have had a quick look at the connections on the Zumo and one of the contacts seems to have been drilled slightly so maybe thats the problem. After only 10 days use though that really shouldnt be happening.

Just thought!!!! when I get home I will try the unit in the car cradle that also came with my zumo. If it fires up when placed in that I know for sure its the bike cradle at fault. Will let you know tonight.

The excitement mounts. Quite literally.

Arrived home and sat my zumo in the car cradle and she fired up instantly :thumb2..............so the bike cradle has gone tits up in 10 days :blast

Really like the Zumo but the reliability seems crap.

I'm on my second one in 11 months of ownership and I seem to be one of the lucky ones!

Now I'm virtually out of warranty I'll end up with a rather expensive paperweight no doubt in the not too distant future

The Zumo needs a redesign as proven by the amount of failed units reported.

This is becoming worrying. I've been considering replacing my steam driven Streetpilot 111 before the next trip and had pretty much settled on a Zumo 550, but now I'm wondering. The old SP111 has chugged along just fine so far.

Dont get me wrong......i just love my zumo 550, it really does tick all the boxes but they really need to sort the cradles out.

Reading other comments from those who have had cradles fail im going to minimise vibration as much as possible with my replacement unit before i start to use it and see how long that lasts.
