Are Zumo 550's reliable for bike use?

Reading some experiences, some people are on their 4th unit and numerous cradles

What are the issues?

Doesn't seem much cop

Would a 26/27 series be better?

I'd say should be as good as a 08 GSA

Got my Zumo last Christmas and its worked fine up until last week when after having a tea stop I put it back in it cradle and it refused to boot up either in or out of the cradle.

Got home and read about taking the battery off the back and then refitting it, tried it again and normal service resumed!

Weird and I hope its not the shape of things to come
