Ok Peeps,

New to all this modern technology, although getting lost is half the fun of having a GS I have just purchased a new Zumo 550 in the hope of more like planning to get lost !!

Anyway have used search and can come up with umteen pics of 1200's and how they have it fitted but struggling with the fitting on an 1150.:comfort

Have been on the Migsel web site and seen the " around the clock clamp fitment" but this does not look very secure or is it just me??

I have not tried the in the box fitting kit but assume this goes of the bars and so unit display would be below the clocks I assume.

I Would like to get the unit above the clocks in some fashion if possible so any help would be greatly appreciated:confused:

Cheers

Phil

The Migsel ...

... round the clock mount is highly recommended; I have used it on both an 1100 and 1150 (they are different) for the last 7 years :thumb

As to power, the choice is yours but a switched live is preferable as there are tails of permanently live mounts failing prematurely. Either an auxiliary fuse box such as the Centech, or a jumped feed off a fuse will both suit your purpose.

Another :thumb2 for the Migsel mount.
Its very secure and above the clocks.
This is the only pic I can find just now.

For power, I used the Aux socket with a cable that Stumpy made up for me.

I used one for awhile, but as I like to fiddle with my Zumo I found it was too much of a stretch, now have it mounted next to the clutch reservoir using the standard 'U' clamp.

Same location for mine, like you said, easy to fiddle with:thumb2

Migsel speedo bracket uses RAM-B-236 ball and use shortest arm, RAM-B-201-A with the gps

U-bolt RAM-B-231Z includes 1", 1.25" u-bolts and black shim (RAP-319) to sit inside u-bolt so covers most option from 1/2" upwards to 1.25"

Fluid Reservoir casting, on to existing cover with RAM-B-345 or RAM-B-346

Mirror Stem with twist-n-tilt with RAM-B-360

Yoke clamp bloke (when released) RAM-B-367 is another thought.

So there are choices and a few that come to mind.
