Hi, is there anyone out that can help.

I have just bought a GSA 1200 and I want to know how to connect the Zumo to the Starcom. First port of call is a lead, but where do you get these from and what do you connect it to.

Sorry if this sounds a bit dim but all very new to me, never had a satnav before.

I have a 550 and starcom you should have all the leads you need, i didn't have to get any extra kit.

HI
I have this set up and if you want to use the music and phone via the Zumo you need the lead CAB 55 £30 from starcom. the ones that come with the zumo and starcom do not allow talk via the phone.
Hope this helps.

The CAB-55 is not stereo. It is a two into one lead that puts music in both ears but is not true stereo.

If you want to use the MP3 player on the zumo and want stereo music then you need MUS-04.

If you are not going to use the MP3 player then the CAB-55 will do.

I use the Starcomm leads to connect my System 5 helmet to the Zumo however you may find the voice prompts and max volume produced by the Zumo too low to hear above 50mph unless you amplify the signal. You could go the full Starcom or Autocom route or use a small Boosteroo battery (AA size) powered amp available from Amazon (<£20). I went for the Boosteroo option and find this works fine for me up to 100mph even although I wear fitted earplugs. The batteries last for ages and the unit is small enough to tuck behind the Zumo.

Not sure how you have yours setup but my system is 'way to loud' so much so that the volume is approx 50% of max.

I have

Zumo
Starcom Digital
Full Remote.
Kedwood radio
Phone
Music input in addition to Zumo MP3
