Zumo 550 Update Problems

Ive just tried to update my map to 2013.2 from 2013.1 and my unit software from 4.9 to 5.0. It started with the software and after following the on screen instructions the unit now says "System Software Missing" and won't allow me to do anything.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Does anyone have a solution please?

I don't ever remember trying to do an upgrade on any of my current or past Garmin units that has gone smoothly.

I made the mistake of updating my gps. After 7 attempts and some e-mails I finally managed an update but now have a virtually useless gps. On the system is UK and Ireland. It tells me I have Europe on the sd card but the unit does not recognise it.

Wish I had never tried to update.....or bought a bloody Garmin as the backup is next to useless.

Any suggestion would be welome.
