Hi.
Question from a non-techie.
Thinking about a 550 but can I load / buy USA mapping as I do quite a bit of driving and biking in the USA. Do you need seperate memory cards for USA and Europe?

Most Garmin receivers are capable of taking extra mapping... Have a quick look on Garmin's website to be sure (I don't own a Zumo)... but I believe it will be as simple as adding some map tiles (Unlocked) to an existing (not full) memory card, or buying another (they are pretty cheap) and putting lots of NA on it... NA costs less than a hundred GBP if I recall so reasonably cheap to do...

Yes I have a Zumo ......When I moved back to NA, I bought the NA maps and they loaded fine.

You can take your Zumo to the US of A - I just did - bought City Navigator US 2008 NT and loaded the Florida section before I went.

One small problem is that for whatever reason the car charger wasn't working properly and the 110 v supply won't seem to charge it so i ended up with a dead Zumo for half teh holiday. Check your charger before you go or buy a US one.

NB the City navigator North america Maps cost about £98 and take a few days to get. garmin guy at the Bike show told me NOT to buy the SD card versioon but to get the CD/DVD version as you cant load jsut the bits you want.

Hope this helps
