That's the third 550 that has stopped working. They seem to have vibrated to death. I have them mounted on the screen bar, but the vibrations have clearly got to them. They become unresponsive or only partly work when they want to. Anyone else have the same issue with sat-navs in general?

I had issues with my zumo 550 too. It eventually packed up completely. They are getting very old now.
Nav V has been faultless mounted on the screen bar for years. Could have been just a case of its beyond its best now. Time to upgrade methinks. The nav V or anything newer will be so much better than the old 550.

i have mine in a TT mount , is yours ? i mount them lhs of handlebar , don't seem to vibe at all ( 1150gs )
try putting it somewhere else.

My 660 lives in a TT Mount on the Dash Infill Panel of my 07 GSA, no issues at all.
It also ventures out in the Camper Van and on the various Blood Bikes I'm Issued.
Maybe the 550 isn't up to the Job?

The 550s have worked on all my bikes very well, the third has just been taken off a Cagiva Canyon 500. Within a week it was playing up. I have mine in a Tourtec mount. I might strip them down and make sure all is how it should be connection wise.
