:comfortHi Rich,

I saw that you know of a device that can be soldered to the bike to eliminate engine wine using the zumo 550. Can you email me with the part number so that I can try it?

Thanks Ron

Hi Ron,

The parts I have been supplying do not have an official part number so I can not really supply you one. But before hand are you actually using the correct leads between the Zumo and your comms? If so what connections are you currently running?

GOLDWING

HI RICH,

I am using a J&M CFRG GL1800 interface for my radar detector, nav, mp3 and phone. Now I have added a CFRG Zumo 550 Bluetooth cord which works great except I get a lot of enging noise only when I try to use the phone with bluetooth. My helmets are not bluetooth but in order to get bluetooth in my helmet I would have to purchase a new Nolan helmet with the bluetooth unit build in. Did I answer you question? Thanks again

Hi Rom,

So are you actually running any of our parts or system on your bike or are all the parts third party?

Engine Noise

I am not running any of your parts. All of my wiring is through J&M Co. I called them and they were no help. I read some of the other threads with people using the Zumo 550 and they were having the exact same problem as I am. I have wired in a relay off the battery and ran a dedicated 12volts to the J&M power leads and I am still getting engine noise. I ran the wiring on top of the bike and not near the engine at all but I guess that doesen't matter. I used a relay so that the Zumo isn't on all of the time and is switched with the key. Any suggestions at all?????? Should I just change to you product? It might be cheeper than getting new helmets with bluetooth in them. With this J&M setup I can hear my radar detector, mp3, satelite radio, gps and phone but what good are they if I have a lot of backround noise. Again thanks

Thanks Ron

The parts I am sending out are mainly for our Part 1276 which are our Bluetooth dongles as some can pick a bit of bike interference up.

As for your system it sounds like you have got a groundloop somewhere causing you the interference. So I would say the Zumo connection you are running for the audio needs to isolated to clean up the signal. Unfortunately I am not familiar on the parts you are running so I can not supply you much help on this one.

If you search on Ebay you should find some ground loop isolaters. These plug in to your Autocom leads and will eliminate the whine

I think I paid around £6 each and have 2 fitted one on the phone input and one for the mp3 input.

Try here

Whine

I have my Zumo and my Autocom powered and earthed at the same points in my wiring (via a Centech fuse box) I don't have any ground loop isolators and do not get any alternator whine.

ok I will try to get one and install it. I will let you know how it works. Thanks for everything.
