Sussed this,
I know there are a few people out there that are struggling with no media playback or other little challenges when using the new 590 and I've cured the issue.
Pair you phone to the 590 in the normal way.
But pair the 590 to the Sena as a phone!
This way you'll get GPS directions, streamed music (but annoyingly no A2DP) and full phone function controlled via BT through the 590.
If you want full A2DP you have to connect your iPhone via the USB lead on the 590 (which is ok as it also charges) and by doing that you get full control with play/pause/fwd/back, track name, time and albumn covers.
Drove me mental most of the day but funnily enough, after I read the Sena Instructions (yes I know, RTFM
) It all clicked together.
