Has anyone any idea what could be causing me to lose maps whilst navigating? I've been using the Zumo in the car recently and for some reason it will just lose the map completely but still gives spoken directions and the turn indication in the left top of display, it can only be cleared by closing the Zumo and rebooting from scratch.
I have now upgraded to the latest release S/W V 4.00, GPS 2.90, DSP 2.30, Text 2.80, Voice 2.20 from the update site so that may improve things but yet to try a longish journey.
Regards Brian

That's a new one on me, Brian, I'm afraid.

A call to Garmin is due, I think.

If you decide to go to see them, you could take mine down, too :hide

Had a bit of grit trapped under the bezel on my StreetPilot 2720, it was activating the touch-screen. It was continuously prompting to recalibrate the screen but what it does might be dependant on what part of the screen is getting the pressure. It was intermittent in so much as it would work properly for 2 to 10 minutes before flipping out. Took the whole thing apart and cleaned the screen which sorted it, have heard of others using a toothbrush without splitting the case. Might be worth a shot :nenau

Thats a very interesting thread, very similar problems to mine I think. I'll give it a try now that I have upgraded the maps. I was windering if teh heated screen on teh car could be causing the issue, obviously I could try an external receiver.

Lost maps

Had this problem a few months back on a section of the M1 north of leicester after going through the average speed cameras on the road works, passed through the section 8 times and lost maps every trip. Can only think that the cameras had a link with the problem.

I wonder if the camera locations could possibly cause this to happen? I haven't experienced the problem since I upgraded the software but equally I haven't done much driving recently.
