Hi all

After much research I am going to opt for a 660.

To use the MP3 and Bluetooth facility I am looking at the SCALA RIDER™ FM Bluetooth® headset + MP3 Connectivity & FM Radio.

Has anyone got any experience of this conbination?

Can the Bluetooth, MP3 and Radio be controlled from the 660 screen whilst on the move?

Many thanks

Mike

The Zumo can store and play .mp3s - you won't need a separate mp3 player.

However, the Zumo will not be able to control a separate radio and I'm not sure how you would connect them both unless you were using an audio hub like an Autocom or Starcom.

Yep, i use this combo all the time without any problems although biggest problem was having the patience to sycn the Scala with the Zumo !!

I use the MP3 player on the Zumo opposed to the ext socket fac on the scala with out any problems, if i'am being picky i'd say that the sound quality can be weak on some MP3 tracks.

Check with the zumo compatibilty for your BT mobile, i use the IPhone and it sycns in first time. I like the fact that once sycn'd it downloads your phonebook to the zumo, you can not make calls on the move only receive but you can initiate a call then move off.

Great bit of kit IMHO.

Scala G4 and Zumo 550

I use this combo. Sound from the Zumo MP3 is not great but after you sync it for the first time, they both pair up automatically when I switch them on. I can also make calls on the move with the 550.
To listen to mp3 you're better using the aux socket and plugging in your ipod etc.

Thanks lads.

I was really interested in the MP3 facility, but if the quality is not as good as my IPod, I might just as well use that and forget the Scala Rider.

I did consider the Zumo 220, but there's only about £36 difference at SatNaveasy at the moment and the 220 does not have a protective case in the box.

Best wishes

Mike
