Zumo for dumies

Trying to down load the maps on the Morocco page by Tim Cullis onto my Zumo 400. I have mapsource but it didn't come with the Zumo, should it have. I have no code to put the maps on my Zumo so can I do it with mapinstaller that came with it? If so how?

Is your mapsource mapping on your PC and unlocked ?...if it is... my recommendation is to download the Morocco map (should be self extracting) into mapsource on your PC.......then copy the Morocco map set onto a SD card and access it from there in your 400.

When I do this the zumo says maps locked:O( Can it be done through mapinstaller? should I have got mapsource with the zumo?

Yes I think so, but not completely familiar with the 400 as I have a 550. Are you the original owner of the 400 ?

Have you registered the 400 with Garmin @ https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/marketing/register.htm and got a registration code or added maps with product key /coupon code. Map Installer is no good to you without unlock codes from Garmin.

From what I understand the 400 would only have UK & Ireland maps on it unless the full Europe maps were installed onto the internal memory of the 400 from the Mapsource DVD NT Europe. The Mapsource mapping would have to match up with your Zumo IE: unlock codes. If your Mapsource disk/software is a copy and/or registered to another user you will not be able to unlock it.
