I am just in the process of adding the parts to fit an adventure screen to my gs, all parts are now in at the dealers, I want to mount my Zumo on the top screen support, any pictures of the way you have mounted yours would be good please.

I have some ram mount bits an the touratech lockable mount too, but not sure if this will fit on direct as the brackets are meant for 12mm bar and is the screen support bigger than that ??

Sorry, no pic at the moment, but I have the Touratech mount for my Zumo - both the bracket to fit it to the upper bar on the GSA screen, and the anti-vibration cradle. Cradle is great but I get a lot of movement from the bracket.

It's not an easy one this - if I mount it any closer to the screen to cut out wobble, it is too far away to reach easily, and might fowl vision of the clocks.

One thought for you - on my old GS I bought the crossbar for the GSA handlebars and mounted the Zumo on that. It was nice and close, nice and clear, easy to reach, and no vibration issues.

Thanks Andy, I have the cross bar but also have a bar bag which contains video equipment and I use a tank bag a lot so that is no Good!! I have seen the bracket you refer too and thought it looked a bit wobbly, I am sure I have seen a mount machined from a solid block of alloy with a ram mout ball on it and also one which simply accepts teh TT mount, just really fishing for Ideas :):)

I've always steered clear of the RAM mount for security reasons. I didn't want to have to take the Zumo off every 5 minutes if stopping for fuel or whatever.

I think it was Migsel that made the solid mount you refer to. Pretty sure that if you look under GS Mods and GPS info on this forum you'll find what you are looking for.

Migsel

I fitted a Migsel mount because with that standard ball mount, there was some serious vibration going on because the screen brace isn`t solid enough. The mount cuts all that out and the Zumo sits in a really good place in my opinion.

Got the Touratech locking mount as well and all fits and works great.

Will post some pics later if you need them:thumb

Thanks Fellas, Just what I was looking for, but as usual with bmw bling, no stock and no sign of when :-(

Padge had some Zumo mounts made Colin. See here. The first batch sold out very quickly and he had a second batch made. I'm not sure if he has any left but you could drop him a PM. They are very well made, are very good value and Padge is a top bloke.

HTH :)

I heard they're the epitome of shoddy workmanship, they're overpriced and that Padge fella is a Cnut.. (cheers Aidan).

Unfortunately the last lot sold pretty quick so I'll put a post up if I can get more in the near future.

I use the standard Zumo Ram mount.

i. It's never worn loose or fallen off during on or off-road riding.

ii. It's waterproof in use but if you're cleaning the bike DO cover it with a plastic bag or you'll knack it.

iii. I blew the 1st one and and am now waiting on the 2nd replacement as the current one won't release the Zumo from the cradle!

Summary - it's OK but not great.

The Zumo itself is a cracking bit of kit once you understand the interface.

I'll have one!

I'd be up for a Migsel mount for my Zumo.

The Touratech bracket just wobbles too much.

:thumb another thumbs up for Padge's excellent jobbie!
faultless bit of kit, top service, cracking price
