Has any body had any problems with the original Garmin zumo 550 mount? Vibration problems, security and unlocking on bumpy or uneven roads. Do I need to buy an after market mount?

Thanks Mark

I have used the original mount for the best part of a year with no problems. The Garmin unit is supposed to be ruggedised for bikes so it should put up with a bit of vibration. I can't see the need to pay huge figures for an isolating rubber mount.

The Garmins are not fragile - dropped mine off the desk the other day...:forry

Never had it unlock. Actually, the reverse is true as the little 'security screw' is a right pain to get undone as it works itself down. You can get a bigger screw that IMHO is a better option.

I did have problems with the arms moving slightly on VERY rough terrain. Soon sorted by wrapping the RAM balls in self amalgamating tape :thumb2

I removed the stupid "security" screw but instead of getting teh bigger thumb screw as many suggest, I got a security level from Farzad on ZumoForums http://garminzumo-660.wikispaces.com/Security+Lever

3 yrs and no problems with the standard mount and i have ridden some pretty rough roads with it mounted. No need to waste money on another gadget.
