Just bought a N-Com Nolan lid and fancy getting a Zumo ive heard that its possible to listen to your mp3 tracks stored on the Zumo 550 via the bluetooth helmet but have no proof of that, iv been on the Garmin website www.garmin.co.uk and it says about the Zumo 500
You can even make phone calls directly to POIs such as restaurants or hotels through zūmo's Bluetooth interface. In addition, zūmo transmits navigation voice prompts or MP3 music to your headset so you can listen wirelessly.

No mention of the MP3 music could anyone shed any light on my eternal search for wireless music PLEASE:blast

I know somebody who tells me it works OK but I think its in mono. Bluetooth kit is quite expensive and the speakers for the Ncom are 50 quid and are mono. Also mine were not loud enough for the full music experience !

I considered an Ncom when i got my sumo, price it all up first, its ALOT of money to replace a wire!

I think the music output is mono in both earsets. But i can blast my head off all day with a 4GB SD card in my zumo :D

Hi Adventure Boy, I have the N-Com and although it took me quite a while to get my head around it I think I have eventually configured to suit me anyway. I have my Nokia phone paired to my Zumo 550 (bluetooth), which in turn is paired to my N-Com helmet, also bluetooth. This allows me to hear Zumo speech directions and also take and make telephone calls and yes you can make calls to POI on the Zumo, although can be dangerous on the move, I tend not too. As a previous subscriber said the bluetooth connections are Mono and therefore music quality is not good so I have I-Pod nano connected by cable, excellent sound quality, only problem is changing music not really possible as Nano is in my pocket, although the ability to use volume control on the helmet is dogs numpties. Hope this helps. cheers,

Sorry guys didnt make myself clear by the looks
I have the N-Com with the bluetooth installed and it works great with the bluetooth for the Nokia phone so it allready has the speakers and im allready committed for the bluetooth experiance
The question is does the Zumo 550 send music to the N-Com via bluetooth
thanks

Sorry mate, I should have answered the question instead of offering my personal honest configuration preference, so the answer is yes! Hope that clears that up.

Absolutely

It works very well and is a much more comfortable solution than the Scala, interphone alternatives. You need to set the warning tones to custom POIs and have the ZUMO in a powered cradle in order for it to work (i.e. it won't work on the battery). The large dial out buttons provided by the Zumo on screen are ideal for gloved hand.

N com and Zum

I am encouraged by these reports because I bought an N com and after 4 months and countless visits to Infinity (who sold me the helmet) ti still ain't working. Also tried Zumoforums.com.

It's back at Infinity but on past form I may be seeking a refund and going the Scala route.

Right on the zumo get it to the bluetooth page and press add headset and then leave it on the bluetooth discovery page for a few seconds.

With the nolan it's what i call the 3 beeps.

With it off press and hold the middle power button down. Your hear it bleep once and then keep holding it down you should then hear a 2nd beep and then the lights on the buttons will be flashing. Then you should hear a 3rd beep and thats when you let go of the button.

Goto the zumo and press ok to search for bluetooth devices. It should then find the nolan being called ncom 6 something. This should then pair up ok as long as the zumo's software is above 2.50 .

Hope this helps.
