My XT has been operating without any issues and following my pre-planned, BaseCamp routes pretty much as plotted. I'd had issues when I first bought it, but most of these were resolved after digesting jfheath's excellent "all you need to know" thread and getting a much better understanding of how it differed from earlier Zumo's and eliminating most of the operator error.
But, recently things have been going wrong and the unit struggled to follow routes and roads and was showing straight lines between shaping points on the same stretch of road. I ended up having to reload the route several times across 150 miles or so to keep it on track. Other times it would just lose exactly where it was, even though the magenta route line was clear and running in the correct direction. The distance to turns wasn't being calculated.
Heading to France and having these issues again, I clicked on the potential problem being a recent software and map update. Checking My Maps, and sure enough, the update had re-ticked every map for use. I unticked everything bar CN Europe NTU All North and CN Europe NTU All South, and all has been well again for the last 750 miles through France. No issues, straight lines or loss of location at all.
Just thought I'd post in case anyone else has come across these issues and scratching their head for a solution.
