some of you might remember me asking about which large sports tourer would suffice to my needs, well after much soul searching and head scratching I decided I couldnt sell my GS and instead bought my self something cheaper to share the garage that would still go woooooosh when required, so I spent not a lot of cash on this. :D

Blackcurrant and lucozade ZZR :thumb

had a D2 that was slightly tweaked awesome bike mate :thumb:thumb

Paid a mere £1500 quid for it, 42,000 miles full MOT 2 owners from new last one for the last 11 years poor buggers got MS and is giving up bikes.
It's in better nick than the 13,000 miles ZZR1200 I test rode recently.

Its got the derestricted carb tops, full stainless exhaust with carbon end cans, and I've a dyno jet kit waiting in the wings to be fitted when I stop riding it long enough to pull the carbs off :D

Way to go Stef...to many keep themselves in debt to have the latest toy/model.....great bike:thumb2

Almost went down that route myself, but the reality is I wouldnt go any faster on the latest toy's than I go on the ZZR.

Was going to go for a Blackbird but everyone and their granny and their grannys wee dog has one, that and its a Honda :ymca

Previous owner ran it at a 200 club meet and had it timed at 177.4mph (showing well over 190 on the speedo) so slow it aint.

He also has a Busa which clocked 198 :eek

i know where you're coming from - let's hear a comparison between GS and ZZR dude :thumb2

Thats a cracking piece of kit for such little money Stef, a real bargin.
Had one myself before I got into GSer`s, loved it, there are times even now when I still miss it, enjoy :thumb

Smart buy. I still have the C1 ZZR I bought new in 1990, It does pretty much everything so well that I've seen no need to replace it. Obviously no ABS and you wouldn't want to go on dirt roads with it- but then I've got my GS for that.

Off to France on the Kwacker next month for a few thousand miles.

Similar to may garage.....

Have a 07 Blackbird and an HP2E with both sets of wheels......best of all worlds. Great price you paid for it. Enjoy!:)

Been a while getting back with a comparison, but ferkin hell does the ZZR shift !!!!

Been suprised on more than one occasion when over taking in 4th or 5th gear how fast it piles on speed, even in 5th (its got 6) it'll go from 50 to 90 in the space it takes to pass two cars.

Recently fitted a ZZR1200 shock and a set of Avon Storms, steerings nice n light now while still being stable in a straight line, and I never tire of hearing that four cylinder howl :D

Took advantage of the early Scottish summer (3 days this year) and got out for a spin.

Great bike the ZZR. I've owned 3 600's and 3 1100's before getting the GS and reading this post makes me want to get another one! The ZZR was the bike that got me started and its still got a great rep all these years later. Nice colour too.

When you coming?

Get doon here again and if the steering is nice and light, should handle the hairpins easy enough . 1500 quid is a bargain. Looks great. Geeza shot? :D
