I am familiar with the sound made by the ABS when it initialises at 3 MPH or whatever, but my bike seems to do this regularly when moving in stop start traffic at low speeds, is this normal?

How often? I don't know what the interval is, but it's supposed to do it on a regular basis.

I dont really know exactly, but as long as its normal behaviour thats okay, the ABS lamps do what the manual says anyway.

So it's quite usual for it to usually do it but it's equally unusual for it to usually not do it. Just wanted to be clear on that 'cos you had me confused there for a moment.

I think he means that they don't do it sometimes but sometimes they do do it.
