Garmin cable installation advice

I have a 2002 1150gs and want to install the power/audio cable permanently to the bike. Can I use loop connectors and attach direct to the battery or would that drain the battery .
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

you can connect direct to the battery, but be sure to use an in line fuse. i take the fuse out when gps is not to be used for a while.

smear some silicone grease on the connector to prevent oxidisation of the pins.

it won't drain the battery unless the gps unit is plugged in and switched on

Firstly hello and welcome to the site. Yes you can wire them directly and that's exactly how I had my Garmin wired to my 1150's with no battery issues.
