Basically all start right here

I remenber that Name from many years,,since I was little,,since "On any Sunday" :evil

This days I'm getting better and better in the dirt,,and I like to try new things too...

so why not,,doing the most attended event of the year(3000 people last year ...I think)and make a fool out of my self on a over grow black german Pig.

the event is on Novenber the 8 and 9 in the town of elsinore in california

the registrations open on august 22 and you can suscribe at
www.goateyewear.com

so I quess what I'm asking is,,,:huh

I'm to crazy for trying it,,,,:arg
to crazy even to think about it:confused .

here is the Whole tread

A few months later the result was this

or the Elsinore grand prix's from Ricky eye

First of all let me tell you that after this week end I came to A few realizations and some conclusions

First :doh of the Weekend
The GS is NO Dirt Bike, and much less a Motocross bike

1298023-M.jpg

Second and even more ovius
At the pace that we were going the GS has no bussiness Competing on a Event like the Elsinore,we were more or less "Movile" Obstacles
1298013-M.jpg

For the Realization
Friends like Boejangles
1297961-M.jpg

and Irina are not found on every corner
1297958-M.jpg

I can not absolutlly asure you if the out come of this Event will be any different If I follow Jimmy lewis advice, but I can tell you that if I did maybe I will finish the race.
Jimmy is another of those Ultra super wonderfull persons, and I really apreciate all the stuff he did for me

I for sure wish He have something to do with me,,maybe some day after I take his class,I will be a Different Person and for sure a different rider

the "complete" History

Here is Paul's treat

Said motozilla:
Ride of a lifetime....All 5 and a half laps!

I'm home, I'm in one piece, I'm going to be sore tomorrow!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Dave, JT, Jim, Jimmy, James, Lori, Carl and everyone from the board that came out to witness the carnage that Ricky and I left in our massive GS powered wakes.

I hear there's video and many many pictures to follow.
Pauls version

and this is SASHA's point of view

Said sashapave:
I had so many pics I thought it'd be easier to post 'em in a new topic.

First off, a big hat's off to Ricardo and Motozilla! They had thousands of fans cheering them on, and put on a great show.

I chose to race the Dual Sport class earlier in the morning on my trusty Airhead (much less to break). I'm glad I did. The race was 45 minutes long, 20 miles of brutal terrain. Ruts, mud, jumps, hills and the worst of all: endless steep-faced whoops. Those things will kill any GS! I've never bottomed-out so much in my life!

The course was a blast to ride, but to race it is a whole different story. It was way too easy to get in over my head, with the crowd cheering and perfectly designed jumps. After a couple laps I quickly learned where I had to slow down and where I could make up time.

All in all I learned that these big pigs probably not the best idea to race unless you're willing to dump a whole lotta cash into 'em.

The number plates came off, saddle bags went back on, and the memories will last forever. Thanks everyone for a great time!

Pictures to come

Part IV

The rules say you have to push your bike from impound. The rules did not take into account a GS.

Sasha's Whole tread

Ricky, thanks for posting them here (now I don't have to).

As said in advrider, you guys are loco !!!

Can someone send these to Simon and Plumb so they can see how to ride the Dakar ralley...???:D

No.No Mike,,,we suck at this..

Look at me I did about 20 Milles and I almost crash 5 times, until i really "highside" my bike,,,but the reason I really stop is because Golem fall apart(my fault oviuslly, she is just a Unanimated Object)

to tell you the true,at the pace we were going,i don't even know if I can finish,,just do to stamina,,,4 milles per lap,for a total of 27 laps,,27 Jumps, 27 "mini big"(2M high 1,5M long) drops, 27 "Big Big" (5M drop 5M long) and a million Zillion water bars, rutts,,Mud,rocks in your face...

belive this is no way to race the dakar or anything else for that matter.you need to run "Smart" care for the equipment and your body,,In short we were racing a Place and a Pace the bike did not belong,,but we are okay with that,,in fact that was the whole point of the experience.

well....... now we really know.

Well Ricky, I've seen what Nick Plumb can do on an 1150GS. When I went to his off-road school we were all on 650's, he was on an 1150. Where we had problems getting to on the 650, he just breezed in, as if the bike weighted next to nothing.

Remember that the Dakar has large stretches on flat land as well. That's were they can make up for time, since they be able to race faster. It's the sand dunes that'll bog them down on a GS.

But I guess it'll never happen.....

in My case the dirt skills are pretty minimal, and for sure limited.so maybe a more skillfull rider can do wonders with the Pig,,for me I fight to much with them,as oppose to dance, for sure a lot less efford involve...

also remenber i have less then 6" of suspension in the front, and 4,75" in the back,so you feel every hole, every root and for sure every jump.

this is almost at landing,,I was about 1.5 Meters high

Ricky,

We have institutions for people like you, they usually have high fences and padded wall paper…….you mad S.O.A.B.

But respect where it’s due.

Keep up the entertainment.

Fantastic Ricky :bow

Hope Motozilla gets his bike fixed :(

Yeah in Zilla's case is only money,,lot of it,but money after all.

in my case i need to figure out the money stuff to,but I need to figure out a better design also,,,but wait a minute that is what I do all day long and also love very much.

no big deal,,the next event is in 10 days i hope i have the bike ready by then

What're you running next Ricardo?

A Easy one,,is about 350 milles Divided in two days,,they have two choices a "easy" and a "Expert" one,,
guess the one i'm taking :p :p :p :p

but in reallity all the preparation is for This a Epic 2800 milles on the Dirt from Mejico to Canada.that we are organizing for next year

You see not all the ADVriders are a Bunch of "smakertalkers",we actually think about riding, but more than that we RIDE and Write(sorry I Suck at Ingles, and at writing also) about the experience and all the angles that brings into the Table...
Inprovisation, development ,riding skills.equipment,planning.mapping.GPS's,,you know even CPR and first aid stuff.

In this trip my Dutty is to be the "McGiver" of the Expedition.is going to be fun and for sure hard as hell

Ooh, I want a piece of the Epic. I will watch the progress on Advrider. I can't do the whole route but some of it if you want some company? I'll post over there.
