screen
if you've had a gs then deja vu
screen on the xt is too low for me (6'2" - on low seat) i like riding with visor up and both screens put airflow into eyes, buffetting, noise etc, generally bad blah blah blah
bought taller screen - longer but curved back so not much improvement
but wandered into touratech and bought an extender and its great (like gs with nippy normans tall screen) fits ok, visor up no wind on eyes, no buffeting, no noise, no issues with tour x - 120 indicated and still on
part number 0480420 about £90 but free cup of coffee if you call in
anyone want a super ten tall screen, discounted pls let me know
warning
easy to overfill with oil, despite the manual, just heating up on tick over didnt do the trick - overfilled. I found that the oil level was correct after driving the bike for 10 mins and hence 1.2 litres too much. When overfilled it seems to vent behind the electrics within the right hand side panel and drips oil from base of battery box.
(took panels, tankd and airbox off but couldn't see the vent)
dropped overfill out and now is fine
other mods
re-used my gs bar risers (40mm touratech) fit fine, different shape but bar profile and holes and bolts are the same
put throttle on upside down - gets cables out of the dashboard
scottich in-laws down and three large whisky's done - apologies fo spelng
