We have a 'Go' from a client to build a rugged stylee outfit, from scratch, on to his K bike :JB

It's got to be completed and roadworthy before September

He saw the rig we built for Gert's 1100 Kalahari, and wants one for his brick, so here we go again :D

The plan is to build two (maybe more if anyone's interested :augie) at the same time up to a point, which will be a complete rolling (apart from it'll only have one wheel so it'll roll in little circles) sidecar, based on a square section heavy duty chassis, and probably using Ford Fiesta swing arm assembly again for the suspension.

Two makes sense.....It's cheaper to build two at the same time than two consecutively, we can build them in parallel and learn as we go.....we're going to build the chassis with enough adjustment space built in to the mounts so we can tweak and tune it to ride well and make adjustments when we come to mount the second on something, but based on the standard layout with trail, distance ratios between rear hub and sidecar hub etc.

BRING IT ON!!!!

:JB

To be continued...................................

Plan A:
Build in 3 main assemblies
1) chassis and bodywork, pre-installed generic wiring
2) separate suspension section incorporating Fiesta/Citroen swing arm assembly
3) Mounts, braces and bracketry tailored to specific bike/model

This means we'll end up with a kind of modular system and can offer up the chassis to any bike, bolt then weld on the suspension to make the ideal geometry, then attack the mounts/bracketry to suit the specific model of bike
