1gb card for 2610

You might as well spend a few extra quid & buy a cheap 2gb card, that way you can fit the whole of Europe on it.

I'm off to Berlin tomorrow, if I can't find a better deal at Media Markt or Saturn, I'll be buying this on my return:

More on ebay:

Unlike digicams, GPS don't need single layer CF cards, so the cheaper multi layer cards are fine.

I would go for a sandisk card.
First i bougth a kingston 1Gb and it did not work (but it worked fine in my Canon Ixus)

i buy all memory from here.

they don't seem to do 2GB at the moment though

i have a 1GB which holds all british isles + france + a bit more.

Their prices look good but can't understand why there's no 2gb, it's not as if they've only just come out?

I bought a second hand Nav.II last week, came with a Kingston card, works fine.

I had the occassional 'non-reading' problem when using a Mickey Mouse-brand CF card.

For Tossers-on-Tour I bought a 1Gb SanDisk CF card from eBay for £40.03p - delivered to my door.

1Gb easily absorbed enough for this tour and the SanDisk cartd worked faultlessly in my 2610 throughout.

Personally, I wouldn't buy any other brand.

crucial is retail arm of micron, one of THE names in memory. no quibble lifetime warranty on all their stuff.

dunno why there's no 2GB. odd?

I've got about 5 Crucial cards in various appliances including a 1GB in my 2610 - no problems with anything. However best buy at the moment must be a 1GB Lexar 8X card from www.digitaldepot.co.uk for £39.90 plus £2.99 P&P. I ordered one yesterday pm and it arrived this morning. As my cameras get more & more pixels, the memory I need gets bigger & bigger. I've just bought an Olympus compact that takes 5MB images in JPEG!

Regards,

Charles
