Addendum to previous thread.

Anybody been to this resort - there seem to be plenty of hotels.

Any views/recommendations/alternatives? - thinking about a few days sun, beach and generally relaxing before heading back to Blighty.

All opinions gratefully received. :thumb

Opatija

Sun you will find. Heaps of people ready to party, and a cement beach.

There is lots going on, and all in all, it is an interesting stop!

It's a nice place.

Lots of grand houses converted to hotels. As Rob says, no beaches as the coastline is rocky. There are plenty of places where you can swim in the Adriatic though from man-made seafronts.

I stayed here: http://www.opatija.net/hoteli.asp?id=24
It was very good. Overlooks a small harbour and very central.

The restaurants on the main road are quite expensive. You pay a premium for a sea view. Take a stroll just off the main tourist track and you will be rewarded with much better value for money.

There are some lovely mountain roads nearby.
