Pull it out an see what difference it makes.

I wouldn't call it a relay, i think that would be a trades description offence - here's whats inside all the CCP relays.

I'm trying to send you the following info in an MS Excel spreadsheet where it looks more sorted, but for some reason, I can't send you an e-mail or PM you.

The coding plugs aren't relays, but shorting plugs. They connect a series of pins that I believe select different Motronic "maps".

Yours has been bolded. I think if you pull your coding plug, you'll find continuity between pins 30 and 87A.

Model Plug Color Connected Pins BMW Part Number Motronic Number
R850 GS cat Gold yellow 30 87 61 36 8 366 282 2.2
R850 GS cat 25Kw Grey 30 86 87 61 36 8 366 623 2.2
R850 GS non-cat No plug 2.2
R850 GS non-cat 25Kw Olive yellow 30 86 61 36 8 366 621 2.2
R1100 GS cat Pink 30 87 87A 61 36 8 366 625 2.2
R1100 GS non-cat Beige 30 87A 61 36 8 366 551 2.2
R1100 GS cat Switzerland Dark brown 30 86 87 87A 61 36 8 366 624 2.2
R1150 GS cat Gold yellow 30 87 61 36 8 366 282 2.4
R1150 GS cat 91 ROZ Grey 30 86 87 61 36 8 366 623 2.4

yip thats what ive got, but as mentioned before nothing happened with it removed, and i dont mean a trip around the block. Went 200 miles no difference :nenau

Could it be a BWM conspiracy to sell little coloured plastic boxes :eek

Stef

you need to reset the mototronic after you remove the CCP.
basically it's

with ingnition off remove fuse 5
wait a few minutes
put fuse 5 back
turn the ignition on but don't start the bike
twist the throttle fully a couple of times

mototronic has not been reset for whatever current CCP plug (or no plug) is fitted.

start bike away you go.

you should notice a difference, I certainly did when I did this with my 1100GS.

cheers

Reset it this morning, not had a chance to try it out, but it would appear to be ticking over smoother. :thumb
