I went out this morning with the dual aim of trying out my new Prat Suit and Shoei Hornet DS combo (report elsewhere) and of hooking up with the Boxhill rideout at Whiteways Cafe on Bury Hill. The ETA for the guys was 1200 but I did the Chichester-Midhurst-Petworth-Bury Hill circuit a bit quicker than I had planned :cool and arrived at 1115.

Never mind, there were not many bikes there and just one K series  BMW who was pulling away as I arrived. So I had my coffee in peace and then strolled back to the bike and was just putting on my helmet when a guy came over. It turns out that, not only is a he a Tosser with a 1200GS and some good continental touring behind him, but he is also a sailing man (which means he's OK in my books). But more important still, he has just bought the cafe at Whiteways which explains the signs excusing limited grub at the counter.

I've pointed him to this site and suggested that he introduces himself to the rest of you lovely lot. Now that's bloody handy in my book, one of us with a great meeting place and what I am sure will be first class nosh.

His name is John by the way. Go gentle on him (for a couple of days anyhow).

Yes GreatScott, put the bloody thing away................. I am a rootin' tootin' son-of-a-gun hairy assed biker again :tarka

er.....apart from the shaved pubes that some bastard nurse gave me in the ops room when I was deep under. Hmmmm............I hope that she admired the tackle whilst she was about it. :idea

...er...a bit too much information. A simple yes would have done :augie. Gald the leg's OK

Collected my bike this afternoon. Fixed on warranty :D but (why is there always a but?) the front tyre was down to 2 mm  and the rear had a punture :blast How did happen? It was Ok when it left me or so I thought. So I have had to fork out on two new tyres and I've spent the money set aside for France :comfort Oh well it's only money and a few weeks to go yet so still planning to go. Look on the bright side at least I did drop it driving out the dealer on new tyres :D
