I went for a ride with the Derbyshire Riders the other day, I hadn't been with any of them before so thought I would give it a go and see what they were like. A38/A50 junction, Willington services, was the meeting point. I filled up there just to ensure I had a full tank for wherever we were supposed to be going. Well, 2 hours later we got as far as Matlock Bath! I did wonder on the route taken, but went with the flow... eventually we headed to Belper, and then along through Wirksworth to matlock Bath. I had had enough by this stage and made my excuses and departed. I got home and filled up at Tesco, which is only 1/2 mile from home and on the same side of the road heading home......
96.4 miles since I filled up at Willington. I managed to get 3.1 litres in until the fuel was just building in the vent hole. It was tedious riding with them, but at least it was economic!
