Anyone know the replacement part number for either Brembo or EBC pads for the new R1250 Hayes brakes? Whilst initial bite of the Hayes brakes is ok, the pads feel made of cheese and go off quickly under harder use. Neither the EBC nor Brembo websites acknowledge the R1250.

Sorry to hi jack your thread but ive done just over 9500 miles on my 1250 and im on my second set of rear pads and reckon im only about 5-700 miles off my next set....fook me their made of soft cheese!! Anyone recomend another decent rear pad???

Not surprising and hence my original question. The OEM pads are very poor quality imho.

My R1250GSA has Brembo on the rear but as above after 4000 miles pads are shot.
Just fitted Brembo Sintered from Motorworks so will see if they last longer.

I did the same as you, not sure if my second set were sintered though... just over 10000mile now and im on 3rd set trying the sintered ebc set. Im praying these buggers last im thinking of advertising myself as a new 1250 rear brake specialist

I fell for this three years ago when I bought my GSA, a number of people on here were saying pads weren’t making it to the first service, so I rushed out and bought Brembo sintered pads in preparation. It must be the way you ride them as CW changed mine at 18,000 for my rear pads, 30,000 and still going on the front.

I accept I’m riding mainly motorways and rural so less urban than many, but even still.

Just ordered front and rear pads for 1250 gsa. Worn out at 6,600 miles. Thanks for the heads up, hadn’t had any luck on google.

Is this what your pads looked like on a 1250 after 4,000 miles  How did they get that corroded ?

Did get a lot of use, 1200 miles around Scotland, then 1500 more 4 weeks later around Wales and Cornwall, so not many motorway miles, majority was country roads and a lot of hills.
No idea why so rusty, rest of the bike seems fine.

Eek! Wading in estuaries would have do that. Rear pads have lasted around 14K miles in my 2017 bike. Rear tyres, on the other hand, are another matter... :blast

My aftermarket Brembo's did 20,000 miles and were not terrible, the leading edge was cracking and wearing so I changed them. I can't understand how yours could ever got that bad, even if they were sitting in a bath of acid. I would be taking them to BMW and demanding some new ones !

The oem pads maybe soft but the benefits out weight the issue of milage , I have used two rear sets and half way thro the 3rd set of fronts , 10,00 miles but the brakes have been perfect and better than the old Brem .
Yes I like to use my brakes as I ride mainly back roads , Spain trips etc , no m ways so maybe the high usage . I did use the aftermarket pads on my 1200 for a bit but the dust was worse and they lasted no longer.

Me too, I'm at 22k and original pads are only half worn. Not much traffic to slow down here for though, the gearbox seems to able to do enough to scrub speed off.
