The two options I'm looking at are going the whole hog and having them sprayed - bit of work involved here as they'd be coming off the bike to get done. Another (easier) option would be to purchase some head cover protectors and fit them on underneath the crash bars. The more coverage they offer the better - have seen some suitable ones on the likes of AliExpress that don't cost the earth....
