Low miles good or bad?

Lovely looking bike. Wouldn’t even bother changing the tyers for another few miles. Good find and good luck with it. Lucky guy. JJH

exactly, use till they wear out....

FYI all the ones I've seen the silver swinging arm and bevel are rot free at 13 years and nearly all the darker grey ones a bubbly mess of corrosion at 6 years.... indicative of the bilge quality these days ?

Lastly, anyone brave enough to try retro fit the RT's cruse control.... all the modules are the same. just need a switch, the readily bought £80 throttle cable actuator and some magician fighting BMWs software... it ought to be a simple mod (or should I say standard along with the heated seats!)

Brave enough to ride on old brittle tyres, get em off mate, its all you have below you. :rob
Old, brittle, feckin brittle!? They are only 6 years old! They'll be fine unless they've been sat flat for ages or you/the owner are a worrying sort.

Agreed. If the bikes in good condition I'm sure it's been garaged continually and tyres won't be dried out.

I'm currently riding on 2013 Anakee 2s that have now done maybe 2500 miles and came with the bike. Still in excellent condition and giving great grip and feedback even riding hard. I love new tyres and am looking forward to replacing them with pure road tyres at some point, but there's no need right now!

I'd be more worried about the 6400 miles than the 6 years... mine are always gone by 5500, they never last that long!

The tyres do look to be in great condition all-round and they definitely don’t look as if they have done 6400 miles. Think they were Anakee’s

I’ll take a close up shot when I collect it on Thursday and share it with you wizards so you can have a debate on it lol

Sidewalls and dates please. :D :popcorn:fbthumb

Well the new steed is home. First 170 something miles for me on a Twin Cam. First impressions...woohaa...what an engine compared to my 2009 even after the HT treatment it got. Can't believe how well she goes especially higher up in rev range, what a blast.

At this moment I am wondering if I should even bother fitting the AF-XIED...maybe they are on already lol

Had four season's in one day on way home so she's rotten. Will give it a good wash tomorrow and put up some pictures, including the ones of the tyres :)

I must say that the bike felt very much planted under all conditions and I did see some heavy rain and very wet yet twisty roads.

The only thing I noticed was some squealing of the front brakes under gentle braking but that went as I hit the rain. Think new pads are in order though.

Happy out!!

Ok, couldn’t help myself, some pictures of the tyres

As I remember the pads weren’t excessively worn. Just ride. And enjoy. All the best with it. JJH

You are right JJH they pads look OK. I'll keep an eye on the squealing noise. Just noticed the rear wheel is binding on the rear brake pads ever so slightly but i think that's normal enough. I might get my own GS guy to give her a quick once over for peace of mind but I think she's a goodun!

As it's pissing it down here I'm sharing some piccies supplied by the seller before I made the purchase
