We've got a log cabin in the north of Finland, a village called Akaslompolo which is best known for cross country skiing (about 350km of prepared tracks in the forests and hills around it). It also has a very good downhill area along with husky trips, snow mobiles to rent, northern lights if you pay attention - and a great pub. It's popular for mountain biking, walking and fishing in the Arctic summer.
The cabin sleeps 6, with 2 twin rooms and 2 further beds on the mezzanine; wood burning stove, sauna, ski prep room, cross country tracks 200m away (as is the ski bus) and the village is 10 minutes walk.
We let it out in winter and summer, currently there are a few winter weeks still empty. Price starts at about €1000 per week.
In summer it's cheaper and you have the advantage of 24 hour daylight.
Akaslompolo is not too difficult to get to, there are quite a few options. Any questions about the cabin, area or travel etc just ask.
