Hi Have a late 2009 model R1200GS. Does anyone know how I can find out if its the MK2 or MK3? Ta
Easiest way to tell a single from a twin cam is where the oil filler cap is. On left hand c/head = single cam, right hand = twin cam. Alan

Always understood the twin cams were called TU models, as in technical update.
Also worth bearing in mind that the Servo ABS disappeared from September 2007, so you may well happen across a 2007 (57) Bike with the later System, although the Aesthetics will still be the same as the the earlier Models...Original ones were 2005 to 2007 with shit servo-ABS brakes, 2008 to 2010 were referred to as 'MU"(model update)
Sept '06 onwards got the newer ABS (2007 model year)Also worth bearing in mind that the Servo ABS disappeared from September 2007, so you may well happen across a 2007 (57) Bike with the later System, although the Aesthetics will still be the same as the the earlier Models...

That's a bit of great info, I now know I have a BMUU R1200 GSA TU with the better ABS brakes.
I bought mine just over 12 months ago, it's a 2010 bike on a 57 frame, it was a class N insurance bike bought from a dealer in Doncaster. Slight cosmetic on the right hand side, but nothing to see really. I've only done 10k on it so far in the last 12 months.
And what a great improvement that was. Why put it on the opposite side to the sight glass. Was a pain in the ass crawling round the bike to check when the ex missus had her twin cam GSA. Much easier on my 06 GSA.
Out of Interest, how did a 2010 Bike that needed a complete Frame Replacement end up as just a Cat. N??
