So I was tightening up the pins on a new chain where the pins are now flared to spec but one seems a little tight. She goes fine when turning the wheel but definitely the link is tighter than others. Should I start again?

DID 525 vx
Thanks

That’s a tricky one but I’d probably re-do it.
‘Flared to spec’, in my book is only just perceptibly flared over, it almost looks like it needs another turn of the screw (it doesn’t). Any cracks and you’ve gone to far.

Did the same last time I changed chain and sprockets, cheap to do it again and you will not worry about it so answer is Yep!!

Flared to spec for these chains means measuring beforehand and flaring to increased the dia by 0.4mm

Measured the pin at 5.35mm before flaring and went to 5.62 which seems fine but the other pin is 5.67 and that's the one causing an issue. So both under 0.4mm as you say. Ill check again in the morning to see if ive done something odd as should of been fine. Thanks

Sounds close enough so you could ride it's couple of miles and check again.
