G/S and GS Crash bars

i call em crash bars but there cylinder protectors realy anyway is there a difference between the earlier (1981) G/S crash bars and the later GS crash bars other than the obvious oil cooler mounts on the off side bars. The reason i ask is I bought a set for my 81 G/S they fit ok other than the side stand hits the nearside down pipe and settles against it & yeh and the oil cooler mounts on the other side bar so i think there GS, there is a set finishing on ebay for a G/S and i just want to know if there is a difference and its worth my while having a punt.

Forgot to mention I have had a look at online catalogue and the part numbers are different on both models however when cross ref GS it shows part used on G/S ??? confused i am
